there's lots to do still... I found out my headers will be shipping tomorrow. I'm getting a newer design that's all CNC Mandrel Bent
![]() before the engine can be dropped in the following needs to be done -I need to finish cutting the "nubs" off of the transmission, I got most of the way done with this but my cutting wheel isn't big enough so I'll need to find a larger one or a hand saw to finish it up. -I need to test fit the transmission to ensure that the tunnel was hammered out enough (needs to wait on the numbs to get cut off first though) -light coating of the hammered out tunnel section to keep away rust. -I need to build a clutch bleeder line and a clutch line since these need to be attached to the transmission before it's dropped in (otherwise it's too tight to get to them)... James could really help me out here I'm sure ![]() -I'm waiting for my oil pan gasket, once I have that I can swap out the Vette Oil pan for the GTO oil pan -once the oil pan is on the clutch can be installed and the engine mated to the transmission -the engine cross member needs to be swapped out -fuel lines need to be built (I've decided to rear mount the pressure regulator) -clutch pedal and CMC need to be mounted with a custom adapter plate -gas pedal needs to be mounted with a custom adapter plate. ... so yeah, lots to do.

Sure lots to do, but obviously the end result will be killer!
I'm not the biggest fan of V8 swaps. However this swap really takes the stereotypical v8 swap, and turns it on its side. Fly-by-wire throttle, Late OBDII ECU, All-aluminum 'Vette engine doesn't hurt either. Keep up the killer job! Spring is really here now!

Quote:
-within my budget -ample torque throughout the powerband -overall vehicle weight similar to that of the car in stock trim -balanced such that the F/R weight balance isn't shifted too far forward -easily upgraded down the road for more power if I want it the LS1 was the only swap option that seemed to fit all of that and it fit it all quite perfectly -within my budget (not much more than RB or built SR swap) -makes 300ft-lbs below 2K rpms and stays there ![]() -adds less than 100 lbs to the overall vehicle weight -actually shifts the weight further to the rear and improves the F/R weight balance over stock. -responds extremely well to mods, you can get an extra 100-150 HP out of the thing with only a few hundred bucks in parts (intake/cams and a tune). plus super charger and turbo options if I want to get crazy.

wow those links for couplers and bends are great.
I will need to make a downpipe for my new turbo when I put it on and I am gonna need some bends - that plus when I make the exhaust for the s14 eventually as well. I always get my stuff from atp because they are so great, but there looks like there's some savings to be had if I get a couple that aren't from them... Now I just need to find some retardedly cheap vband flange source for my new downpipe Here are 2 other links to add to the pool for your reference. www.bmcrace.com - best quality flanges you will find period - no compromise. www.remflex.com - best quality gaskets you will find period - no compromise. epic and reusable crazy awesome comes to mind. lookin good mike.

funny story about the remflex gaskets... I bought a set for my 3" exhuast...
I wasn't going to put the exhaust on until after my swap (back when I was still wanting to go SR), nissan14jones needed a stock exhaust so I offered to give him mine if he wanted to pull it himself and install my aftermarket one. i brought the gaskets with me and he INSISTED that he use some official Nissan gaskets that he had, supposedly used for the 350Z. I forgot to grab the brand new remflex gaskets before I left... recently I was going through my parts and decided to pull off the old KA exhaust parts... I discovered that the Z gaskets he put on were only 2.5" gaskets!!! I wonder if he still has those remflexes that I left at his place... ![]() ---------------------------------- another link http://www.nipponpower.com/product.phtml?p=467 the LS1 has a steam line that runs through the throttle body.. that part would make it easy to hook up properly... though I suppose I could just cap the steam line and forget about it too...
