Default Technical Article Suggestions

Is there a project you wish there was a how-to for but you've never seen one?

is there a review of a product you're interested in?

is there some tech question you'd like answered and think the answer is important to the 240sx community at large?

If so write your request here...

Maybe it's not even something you need personally but you think having the guide would help out newbies, or maybe you think having the guide would help bolster 240sxONE's position as a worthwhile resource for others.

I would only like to discourage you from asking things that are covered by the Factory Service manual or are particular only to your car.

For instance:

"my car wont start and it makes this noise..." is a bad request because it's not useful to anyone but you.
"where are the proper locations for jacking up a 240?" is a good request because it's helpful for everyone.

"do you think this rust spot is fixable?" is a bad request because it's specific to your car.
"what is the general procedure for fixing rusted areas?" is a good request because it's helpful for everyone.

Once we start getting requests I encourage the community to post links to existing articles that might help, or writing your own articles on the subject in areas where you might be knowledgeable.

when i first got the car i was jacking it up on the sides. didn't really realize that you should have that piece (block of wood, w/e) to put on the jack. i've been jacking it up by the crossmember or the diff...i'm assuming those are ok

It would be cool if someone had a chart that details the specs of each stock or stock swappable motor. by that I mean:

boost pressure (stock psi and inHG at idle)(if applicable)
water temp
oil pressure (obviously more difficult..maybe just at idle?)
oil temp

but i wouldn't want to see johnny show-off saying "I have an SR22DET twin turbo boosting at 44psi with all these oil coolers, intercoolers, thermostats that make it run 100 degrees F". i'm talking about something someone could benchmark off of

no it would definitly need to be a fully functional set... the hardest part of the whole thing is properly aligning them... that's not happening with broken tabs.

nice suggestions...

I'd also like to add some really basic basic how-tos...

how to properly jack your 240sx (with detailed pictures)
how to clean your MAF
how to change your oil
how to bleed your brakes
how to replace your brake pads and rotors
how to rotate your tires

There are basic things that aren't really documented anywhere because people just assume you should "know" how to do it, but writing tutorials like that will empower beginners with the confidence they need to tackle more complex modifications.

One should be able to get 1, 3, 4, and 5 pics and write-ups all in one shot.

I second the dash removal and differential builds. Say, for installing a Kaaz LSD.
