I voted KA, since that's what I chose to build, but I could also see myself behind an RB, VQ, VH, and possibly an LSx engine (I've got a thing for nissan engines before anything else).

No offense to the SR guys, but I can't see myself spending the money on it.

When I part out my Maxima, I'm keeping the engine just in case.

KA-T FTW! I say this because most of my good friends run ka-ts as do i. No replacement for displacement.

That's why I went with a 5.7L

KA seems to be the break away hit so far though...

how can u beat it? let me start some trouble here....if ur on a budget like everyone the ka will yeild the best results dollar for dollar........the SR is definatly the next closest..and the numbers prove it. were all on a budget and considering we all already have KA's u can put the 1500 u'd spend on a beat sr towards forged internals....i think if ur a top notch fabricator with the resources materials and tools its a diffrent story.

you dont need to be a top notch fabricator, small blocks are sooo easy to mount, im not a great welder so im going to send that out to get finish welded but if you have a cuttoff wheel and a drill you can mock up anthing if you think about it and take your time. im also debating boosting my ka to see how it goes, i have access to a few turbos real cheap but the 5.7 is coming! plus, 350hp STOCK is not bad, and they respond to modification way better than nissan motors do with basic bolt ons.

not what i was talkin about. i can tig mig jig and swang toobut without accest to the tools and materials for "free" ie u own the joint or ur work owns the ish and has scrap material ur throwm $ at toolsand mats and not power adding ish.

if u had 2k or a lil more only, its gonna be tough to beat the motor thats already in the bay. i mean what can u get for a grand toward a ca18 rb20 or sr20? maby a tune and some injectors?
i dunno i was just sayin were all on a budget here and the ka is a budget friendly thing in comparison....

i wonder how they would rank by dollar : hp/lbs like the power to weight ratio estimate per dollar (motor +mods). damn i dont think i can make this make sence.
