Default turbo rebuild supply

just looking to see what others have had successs in with rebuild kit supply companies.. just went through my second t25 in about 3 months and it's getting kinda crappy to smoke all the time.... especially when my engine seems to be in such great shape. i'd like to just upgrade to more power, but that may not be in the cards right now. especially when my main focus is to make the car as complete as i can, instead of a hp monster... so i'm just looking for companies that others have had success with.

I have had great luck with gpopshop. They sell some kits on ebay but not as much anymore. I have done 2 rebuilds and parts were top notch.

I'm having good luck so far with my treadstone kit... just make sure you test fit everything before installing the ring seals, I didn't and found out the hard way that the thrust collar that was included didn't fit my precision turbo. My fault, but the rest of the turbo rebuild is holding up great.

cool. thanks for the leads, guys. another question i'd like to throw in here, about how many miles could i expect out of a new turbo? if conditions for the turbo stay consistent, but will probably live a hard life..

as long as you keep up on your oil changes and don't have anything explode damaging fins you should be able to probably get far more out of it than you probably need to. Overboosting what it should, antilag, dirty oil, high oil temps, and high egt's can all wear out a turbo fast. Even a hard life will give you many years on the rebuild. Think of all the factory cars that get the snot beat out of them and 100k miles without a rebuild.

Even if you rebuild it every 40k miles... who cares? it's a hundred bucks and a few hours work at best. If it isn't some rusted to hell 10 year old turbo I can probably do a rebuild in under an hour.

i suppose you're right tasty. 40k without turbo failure would probably mean i had a fantastic setup or something else went wrong first, lol.

and as for the ebay turbo rebuild, i've thought a lot about that.. seems like it would be a pretty good way to come up with a reliable turbo cheaply.. my only concern is whether or not the production balancing is sufficient..
