Default What $2,000 bought me pt.2 The saga continues

I saw an ad on CL for a 240 sx... not 240sx. so I guess a lot of you guys missed it. Went ahead and bought it. I think I did a lot better this time around. Dosen't need anything fixed except having broken keys removed from the passenger and trunk locks, anyone know how to do that? Only one real spot of rust on the whole car...

I guess I do need to do something about dat 4x4...

I started to pull and poke and found more rust! It's always the way I guess. Already fixed the trunk latch, and changed the filthy oil, looked under it a the lube joint, and maybe its just because I'm used to the S13, but it seems much less rusty, but is still pretty bad...no real rot yet though. Is an S14 supposed to be way slower than a S13? Because this thing is SLOOOOOW in comparison. IDK what happened to the pics, I'll put some more up.

Don't think it's much slower lol, it's a ka24de not really fast anyways lol. If you plan on swapping it do cheap bolt ons for a lil more umph haha. My buddy did a built sr20 years ago, while waiting for it to come together and focusing his money there, he bought cheap headers, exhaust and intake. Then did emissions removal and welded diff made the car a bit snappier.
Other b.s like going electric fan, one piece shaft and lightened flywheel will help but that depend how involved you wanna get and plan on swapping later on.
If you plan on staying with the ka I'd say just buy good stuff for it and look into a turbo kit.

Also rust doesn't look bad, I've seen far worse asking for more money haha.

Went and did a 25 mi. shakedown. It needs brakes, struts, and something is weird with the steering... It is tough to move the steering wheel when I start to turn, it feels like breaking a bolt loose... then it works no problem
throughout the turn, then "falls" back to straight position. maybe the knuckle?
My S13 is like a race car in comparison, everything is really tight and dialed in, the shifting, throttle response, going over bumps, where the 14 is like driving a piece of bubble gum. I have been on a four year shakedown with that though! As far as swapping, I'm gonna do rust fix/prevention first, suspension stuff and coils, wheels, then I'll think about it.
more to follow
