Default Cheap shipping of large items

This is a Public Service Announcement...

Most people don't realize but Greyhound provides shipping:
http://www.shipgreyhound.com/

they might not be useful for most items but for large packages to and from CA and other far points it can be quite economical.

The only downside is that you must pickup/drop-off at a greyhound location... but they're everywhere so it isn't so bad. I was actually surprised to see that there was one right in my own town.

This is great for those of us in NE who lament the crazy shipping charges to and from all those people in SoCal particularly for body parts.

I wanted to post up that I've used this service to ship a set of S15 rear seats from California to Tilton NH. The Greyhound drop off was less than 2 miles from my house... and I only paid $40 to ship them... not bad for such a huge item.

How was the handling? I always was weary of buying larger parts shipping them Greyhound. And how long did it take? There are some things from Zilvia I want to buy but they're large and bulky.

well it's hard to judge handling since seats are squishy and can take some abuse....

I'd say it mostly depends on how well the item was packed. The thing is greyhound isn't a shipping company and the drop location for me was just a random gas-station so the employees there took care of that portion of it. If it's packed well you don't have to worry about it.

For shipping body parts, twice over with large pocket bubble wrap, and then wrapped all over in cellophane should be ample to protect it from whatever...

same goes for similar sized interior body part

I hear you. Didn't know if you noticed the packaged box to be pretty mangled or anything. A gas station? That's an odd spot for a drop off.
